Another Stevie

Another old Cream flyer from the early days. Here's a white label I've got simply entitled 'Another Stevie'. It's a remake of (unsuprisingly) Stevie Wonder's 'Another Star' which I'm sure I heard Roger Sanchez play around 93/94.

When I've had a look on Discogs though I can't find it. However, what I do see is that there was a Kathy Sledge version in 95 so I'm guessing that they couldn't get the go ahead from Stevie's record company to use his vocal. Anyway, it's a FGC. Love it.

I Feel High

Another FGC from 93.
This track by Slo Moshun, who are probably better know for their Bells Of NY, was written and produced by Altern-8 who were frustrated with the scene at the time, Altern-8 falling out of fashion and the percieved bias towards US released house tracks. They then fooled the US house followers with what is a belting track, packaged and imported to look like the real thing. Lol.

Oh yes!!! The now legendary Cream opened in late 92 and this early flyer was from Jan 93. I fookin loved this place in the early days and went regularly. I don't think you can beat the quality UK and US house music they played at the time. Great stuff indeed.
I'll post 2 mixes of this track off the vinyl, David Morales and Maurice Joshua, although if anyone wants the dubs let me know.
Also the quality at the start of the Morales mix (a few crackles and pops) isn't the best but there you go, it is 17 years old and been hammered after all, lol.

Here's a FGC from a few years back, 06 to be precise, although I've only just heard it myself for the first time recently. It's a wonderful piece of groovy vocal soulful American garage house style of music, the kind that was played at Hard Times. I only visited the club once when it was in Mirfield around 93. After that it moved to Huddersfield and then onto Leeds.

Promised Land

A true classic. Amazing. One of my all time favourites. Possibly one of the best records ever made imho. When you hear this FGC drop at 6am as the sun is about to rise and after having danced all night it is the ultimate sing along anthem. It can overwhelm you awesome feelings of joy, puts tears in your eyes and makes you want to hug strangers.

I've always been open minded when it comes to dance music and although I obviously do have my prefered genres, I have been known to be partial to a bit a cheeky techno now and then.

I've had some amazing nights out listening to crazy acid techno shit at free parties, raves and club nights like The Orbit at the Afterdark in Morley and where this flyer is from, Voodoo at Le Bateau in Liverpool.

Heard this out at Federation a couple of months back now and the crowd reaction was very positive indeed (mine included). The place went right off (with the help of a large, spark shooting, dancing globot appearing). It's a great big FGC and it's been going round my head for ages. Love it!

FGC from 91. This is a dreamy, atmospheric, futuristic, bleepy, beautiful trancey affair.

It is also one of the best tracks Mental Cube (aka Future Sound of London) ever made imho.

The flyer comes from a huge event from Vision established in 89, and along with the Tribal/ Universe/Fantazia events, these were a pre-cursor to the festival dance events we see today such as Global Gathering and Creamfields.
